Why does the season matter in Sarasota?
The National Weather Service describes Southwest Florida's rainy season as generally running from May 15 through October 15. During that period, warm and humid conditions combine with frequent showers and thunderstorms; rainfall typically peaks from July into early September. Read that as a probability map, not a hard ban. A dry, compliant summer window can work, while a damp winter morning can still be unsuitable.
The practical difference is scheduling tolerance. During a frequently stormy stretch, a small delay in washing, patching, priming, or recoating can push fresh paint into rain. In a drier stretch, there are usually more chances to let preparation and coats proceed without compressing the manufacturer's times.
Use the National Weather Service rainy-season explanation for regional context, then use a current point forecast for the actual address. Check it again on the morning of the job. A seasonal average cannot tell you whether one wall is wet or whether a thunderstorm will form that afternoon.
What should be on a paintable-day card?

Is morning or afternoon better for exterior painting?
Neither wins automatically. Early morning may bring dew or a wall that has not dried after overnight humidity. Midday can put a sun-facing elevation well above the reported air temperature. Afternoon can overlap with showers and thunderstorms during the rainy season.
A better sequence is to follow the shade around the house only after each surface is dry and inside the product limits. Measure rather than guess. Record the air temperature, surface temperature, dew point, forecast, and time beside each elevation. Recheck after long preparation delays or a material weather change.
The work window must cover more than the moment a brush touches the wall. Include the time needed to apply an even coat plus the product's required protection from moisture. Starting late because the wall finally entered range is not useful if rain is expected before the coating can tolerate it.

Before coating, let washed or rain-wet surfaces dry as required by the product and substrate. Correct active leaks, failed sealant, or drainage problems instead of sealing visible symptoms under paint.
